OxstandOxstand International is a private middle and secondary school in Shenzhen, which offers a Canadian International Education Program (CIEP) for English-speaking students. This program is designed to equip students with the academic and social skills necessary to enter and compete in Western universities. The program is certified by the Ontario Ministry of Education; CIEP graduates are awarded Ontario Secondary School Diplomas, the same as students educated in Canada. Oxstand's mission is to prepare our students to become active world citizens by developing their creativity, practicality, and their ability to lead. Oxstand International School is partnered with Bond International College of Toronto, Canada and is recognized and accredited by the Shenzhen City Bureau of Education. Oxstand is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2009 semester, and the 2009 / 2010 school year. |

We're fast approaching the end of the first semester. There's a lot of holiday fun on the schedule to balance the demands of the semester's end stretch. As we work harder, so will we play harder. December 29th, monthly assembly, awards December 26th, celebratory activities for all classes arranged by Student Council December 25th, field trip to Chim Long amusement park! December 24th, 11.30 am in the school's front lobby, the Grade 11 Entrepreneurs are throwing a lunch party for their fellow CIEP students, using the profits from their recent business ventures December 19th, Christmas Concert ![]() December 17th & 18th, 6.00 pm - 7.30 pm, Parent-Teacher Conferences (Grades 7 & 8) December 15th, 4.30 pm, CIEP vs. CNEP boy's basketball game December 12th, report cards sent home (Grades 7 & 8) December 8th - 11th, Mrs. McRae's Grade 11 Entrepreneurship class will be competing for your affections and RMB during lunch: they'll be selling meals of all sorts outside the CIEP office. ![]() December 1st - 4th, 4.30 pm - 5.30 pm, CIEP students are invited to join CNEP students in beautifying the campus by painting murals on the first floor pillars. (Have a look at the gorgeous results on the campus page!) As part of November's end of the month assembly, the student body of Oxstand CIEP elected its first Student Council. Thanks to students and staff for making it Oxstand's best Halloween yet--especially to Ms. Michalek and Ms. Whitfield and their helpers for the excellent boo-grams, to Ms. Fletcher and her helpers for the haunted house, and Ms. Whitfield again for coaching Grade 12 in their excellent dramatic production, "The Horrors of Oxstand". Congratulations to winners of the costume contest: Angel for most creative, Matthew and Moe for scariest, and, tied, Beth and Winnie for best costume over all. Also, as we announced at Friday's assembly, a winner has been chosen in the contest to design a mascot for Oxstand's sports teams. It was a difficult decision, but after long discussion and careful consideration the staff chose Beth's suggestion that we be the Oxstand Tigers. October 17th, Oxstand welcomes a delegation of professors and students from several Thai universities. October 16th, Oxstand's director Mr. Holan Luk will visit Ms. Whitfield's grade 11 marketing class, to speak about his experience in marketing, and the business aspects of running a school, as well as to field questions from students. September 27th - October 5th, Happy National Holiday, Oxstand! Classes will resume in a week. Enjoy your time at home or on vacation, rest up for our fast approach to mid-term. Archival Events June, 2008: Congratulations to students and staff for a memorable school year, especially to Oxstand's first OSSD graduates, Lily, Emily and Ting. We wish you all the best in your journey to Canada for university. May, 2008: Oxstand welcomed an inspector from the Ontario Ministry of Education for two weeks to review our practises and policies. His report to the Ministry was favourable: CIEP is officially certified, congratulations staff! The entire school, CIEP and the Chinese National Education Program, were inspected by representatives of the International Standards Organization. Their reports were also favourable: Oxstand is officially certified ISO9001:2000, congratulations staff! CNEP had a visit from the city level assessment office, and, as you may have guessed, their reports were favourable. Congratulations, Oxstand! |
